Smartness is a Trentino, Italy-based travel and hospitality technology company founded in 2020 by Luca Rodella, Eugenio Bancaro, and Tommaso Centonze ¹². The company develops AI-powered SaaS solutions for hotels and vacation rentals, with an integrated platform spanning intelligent pricing management, CRM, payments, property management systems, guest communication, and operational AI ²³. Smartness initially launched as Smartpricing, a dynamic pricing tool, and has since expanded into a multi-product platform serving over 5,000 customers across 40+ countries, with particularly strong presence in Italy and the DACH region ²³. The company is building toward what it describes as the first agentic system for hotels and holiday homes ²³.

On May 4, 2026, Smartness announced a €47 million Series B round — composed of primary equity, secondary equity, and a debt component — led by United Ventures and CDP Venture Capital, with participation from existing Series A lead Partech, Techshop, the founders of Bending Spoons, Azimut, and Rialto ¹²³. The round brings total capital raised since founding to over €60 million and is reportedly the largest Italian round ever raised by a vertical SaaS company ². Proceeds will fund international expansion and targeted European acquisitions ¹³.
